I just finished up a book about Catherine the Great so I thought I would feature the few fiction books that seem to focus on her and her family.
This is the one I just finished. It is the first in a trilogy by Evelyn Anthony about Catherine and her immediate family (cover from 1988)
1993
unknown year
1953 (the original title of Imperial Highness)
1974
Royal Intrigue is the second book in the trilogy about Catherine and her son Paul. It was also published as Curse Not the King (cover from 1954)
1974
1988
Far Flies the Eagle is the third in Anthony's trilogy and is about Catherine's grandson, Alexander I and Napoleon (1974).
unknown year
In 1960, Far Flies the Eagle was also published as Warrior's Mistress with this great cover!
1988
This is a Young Adult book from 2005
And then, there is this beauty from 2009!

Oooh, like the new background. I might have to get the Anthony book, I really enjoyed reading Motley's take on Catherine.
It amazes me that there aren't more books about Catherine.
Hey, I'm doing a book giveaway on my blog and thought you might be interested!

Great Blog!
You may be interested in listening to a couple of podcasts about Catherine the Great at Stuff You Missed in High School. The link below is for the RSS feed. There are two episodes - one about her coming to power, and the second about her being in power.

I found your two sites through Misfit's blog. This book cover site is fascinating. Seeing how HF has been depicted through the decades is eye opening. It certainly explains why the genre is treated as an ugly step-sister - and why I get those askance looks sometimes - and is so strongly associated with romance instead of literature. Too much fun! Count me in as a new follower to both your blogs!
I have a book that may fit here. The Star of the North: A Novel - The Story of Catherine the Great by Helene Lehr. Mine is a hardcover copy with a publish date of 1990. I don't know how to send you a photo of the cover but would be glad to if you would like to use it for your list.
FurryReader - welcome (to both blogs)!! I haven't heard of that book before but would love to see the cover. You can email the picture to me at cmdaphne(at)tds(dot)net and I"ll be happy to add it!
Hi Daphne,
Sorry for my delay, we were out of town since last week and never got the chance to get online like I thought I would. I will send you the scan in jpeg format. Does it make a difference for you whether it is an attachment or in the body of the email?
Dawn
No problem! As far as I know, I can accept it either way - whatever is easiest for you.
